PATHWAYS FOR A FINE ARTS STUDENT
Ball State's College of Fine Arts includes the School of Art, School of Music, and the School of Theater & Dance. Within their respective school, students learn to hone their skill, pursuing their heart's passion. The beauty of the Fine Arts is its compatibility with the Digital Media Minor. With a creative field, the Digital Media Minor can cultivate unique skills the students may carry into their fields of art, music, and dance/theater.
For example, a student studying in the School of Art could create an online portfolio to advertise their artwork, connect with other artists, post offered art classes for clients, and build their online audience. The student could expand their art, creating musical pairings to make a multi-platform artwork for public displays.

For a student studying in the School of Music, it would be useful to invent and cultivate new ways for musicians and the audience to engage with the musical performance. Students can create a music video for performances, publications to social media, creating soundscapes for accompaniment, design posters advertising performances, and learn more about interactivity design for future digital media works. Music is an adventure, a feeling - transform the emotions of the musical composition, and elevate it with the digital works the student could create.
